Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. She has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to California's Mendocino County in the year 2000, when Ryder was only seven years old. The family was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books as there was no TV. Ryder, then 12, took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986 and Ryder, then only 15, landed a role as a leading actress. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. Her hope was that the acting profession would change this. Unfortunately, that did not occur. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. Her breakthrough came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play numerous roles that were successful. In 1993, she received an Oscar Prize in the film The Age of Innocence.
